Connecticut Shooting: Obama’s Emotional Pledge

Connecticut
US President Barack Obama speaking at a vigil for the 27 victims of the shootings at a Connecticut elementary school, says the US must do more to protect children. Mr Obama used a speech in Connecticut to urge the US to make the killing of 27 people in Newtown on Friday the last in a string of mass shootings during his presidency.

“These tragedies must end,” he told an interfaith vigil. “And to end them we must change.” As the president delivered his remarks to a secondary school hall filled with relatives and friends of the 20 young children and seven women who died, sobbing could be heard from the audience. Conceding that “no single law – no set of laws – can eliminate evil from the world”, Mr Obama insisted that this nonetheless must “not be an excuse for inaction”, asking: “Surely we can do better than this?”

Emboldened by his re-election last month, he pledged to use “whatever power this office holds” to prevent further slaughter, hinting that he would weigh into a policy debate frozen over the past decade by reluctance in Washington to alienate the pro-gun lobby. Yet the president’s remarks seemed likely to disappoint those from his Democratic party urging swift and decisive action on new gun control measures, promising only to “engage” with voters and communities “in an effort aimed at preventing more tragedies like this”.

Knowing God’s Will

Father, In Jesus’ Name, I thank You that You are instructing me in the way which I sould go and that You are guiding me with your eye. I thank you for your guidance and leading concerning your will, your plan, and your purpose for my life. I do hear the voice of the good shepherd, for I know you and follow you. You lead me in the paths of righteousnes for your name’s sake.

Thank you, father, that my path is growing brighter and brighter until it reaches the full light of day. As I follow You, Lord, I believe my path is becoming clearer each day.

Thank You, Father, that Jesus was made unto me wisdom. Confusion is not a part of my life. I am not confused about Your will for my life. I trust in You and lean not unto my own understanding. As I acknowledge You in all my ways, You are directing my paths. I believe that as I trust in You completely, You will show me the path of life.

I AM A RESPONSIBLE BOY

¤ The parents of my girl place their trust in me. I will not violate it.

¤ I will respect my girl as I expect other men to respect my sister.

¤ I will respect womanhood because my mother is a woman: I will ask my girl to do nothing that I would be ashamed of if our parents found out.

¤ My girl has given me the honour and pleasure of her company. It is wrong for me to expect more in payment for this date.

¤ My girl will be a wife and mother some day. She must be an example to her children and the pride of her husband. I will help her to be as pure and decent as I want my own wife to be.

¤ Manhood means strength of character as well as body. Lack of self-control is a sign of weaknes. I want my girl to know I am manly.

¤ God is evrywhere, sees evrything, knows evrything. Darkness may hide me from people, but it can’t hide me from God.

¤ If through my lack of self-control, I should get a girl pregnant, I will not put pressure on her to kill our unborn child.

Guidance And Deliverance “Lead Us Not Into Temptation”

There has no temptation taken me but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, Who will not suffer me to be tempted above that which I am able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that I may be able to bear it.

I count it all joy when I fall into various temptions; knowing this, that the trying of my faith works patience.

I will not say when I am tempted from God; for God is incapable of being tempted by [what is] evil and He Himself tempts no one.

Thank You, Jesus, for giving yourself for my sins, that You might deliver me from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father, to Whom be glory for ever and ever.

Father, in the name of Jesus, and according to the power that is at work in me, I will keep awake (give strict attention, be cautious) and watch and pray that I may not come into temptation. In Jesus’ name, AMEN.

I AM A RESPONSIBLE GIRL

¤ My kisses are worth more than a party or a movie.

¤ My body is the temple of God not a plaything.

¤ The first “NO” may be difficult after that it’s easy.

¤ Virginity is still a virtue; lust is still a capital sin.

¤ The way I dress, act and speak may be a temptation to my boy. I will observe modesty for his and my own protection.

¤ My parents have done so much for me I wish always to be a credit to them.

¤ My boy will be a husband and a father some day.

¤ He must be a hero in the eyes of his wife and children. I wil do nothing to prevent that on my dates with him.

¤ I want to be a wife and mother. I will reserve my purity and affection for my husband and children.

¤ If through my weakness, I should get pregnant, I will not take “the easy way out by killing my unborn child.

Someone Like You – Adele

Adele
I heard that you’re settled down

That you found a girl and you’re married now

I heard that your dreams came true

Guess she gave you things I didn’t give to you

Old friend, why are you so shy?

Ain’t like you to hold back or hide from the light

I hate to turn up out of the blue, uninvited

But I couldn’t stay away, I couldn’t fight it

I had hoped you’d see my face and that you’d be reminded

That for me, it isntisn’t over

Never mind, I’ll find someone like youI wish nothing but the best for you, too

Don’t forget me, I begged, I remember you said

Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead

Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead

You know how the time flies

Only yesterday was the time of our lives

We were born and raised in a summer haze

Bound by the surprise of our glory days

I hate to turn up out of the blue, uninvited

But I couldn’t stay away, I couldn’t fight it

I had hoped you’d see my face and that you’d be reminded

That for me, it isn’t over yet

Never mind, I’ll find someone like youI wish nothing but the best for you, too

Don’t forget me, I begged, I remember you said

Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead, yeah

Nothing compares, no worries or cares

Regrets and mistakes, they’re memories made

Who would have known how bitter sweet this would taste?

Never mind, I’ll find someone like youI wish nothing but the best for you

Don’t forget me, I begged, I remember you said

Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead

Never mind, I’ll find someone like you

I wish nothing but the best for you, too

Don’t forget me, I begged, I remember you said

Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead

Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead

T.I. Teams Up With Pink For “Guns And Roses”

T.I.
When I first heard this collaboration I was full of questions and had very few answers.

¤ What would they sound like together?

¤ Would Pink rap?

¤ Does Pink even like rap?

¤ Has T.I. ever heard a Pink song?

…so many questions!

Well, folks, now I have some answers in the form of the song itself, “Guns And Roses.” The song appears on T.I.’s latest album Trouble Man: Heavy Is The Head and it’s a super-poppy track that perfectly blends the rapper and pop-singer’s styles together into a song that is sure to be a hit.

What do you think of this collaboration?

Rose And Jack

• Rose: I love you, Jack.

• Jack: Don’t you do that, don’t say your goodbyes.

• Rose: I’m so cold.

• Jack: Listen, Rose. You’re gonna get out of here, you’re gonna go on and make lots of babies, and you’re gonna watch them grow. You’re gonna die an old.. an old lady warm in her bed, but not here, not this night. Not like this, do you understand me?

• Rose: I can’t feel my body.

• Jack: Winning that ticket, Rose, was the best thing that ever happened to me.. it brought me to you. And I’m thankful for that, Rose. I’m thankful. You must do me this honor, Rose. Promise me you’ll survive. That you won’t give up, no matter what happens, no matter how hopeless. Promise me now, Rose, and never let go of that promise.

• Rose: I promise.

• Jack: Never let go.

• Rose: I’ll never let go. I’ll never let go, Jack.

Do you remember this Movie?

Four Lyrics That Describe Beyonce Over Her HBO Documentary

4
As a Beyonce fan, this is so exciting to me! Here are 4 lyrics (Beyonce’s favorite number) that describe just how much I’m looking forward to the documentary:

4. “Now I’ll never be the same / It’s you and me until the end ”
4
This line, from Beyonce’s ode to her #1 Love “Countdown” describes how I think I’ll feel after finally getting to watch the documentary in February. I’ll never be the same! And I’ll obviously never stop being a Beyonce fan.

3. “You had me at hello / Hello, hello”
4
The chorus from Bey’s song “Hello” is so fitting for how I felt when I first heard the news of her documentary. I was immediately sold on it, super excited, and counting down the days. Yep, you had us at “Documentary.”

2. “I’m not myself, lately I’m foolish, I don’t do this”
4
I can’t sleep, I can’t eat, I’m just way too excited for this rare glimpse into the perfect life of Beyonce! This line is from her classic song with Jay-Z “Crazy In Love.”

1. “I think about you all the time / I see you in my dreams”“
4
“Baby Boy” is a song about a love-interest who Bey can’t stop thinking about, sure, but in this case I’ll apply it to the documentary. I dream about it! I think about it all the time. Maybe…too much.

Lionel Messi Seriously Injured In Champions League Match Against Benfica

Xclussive
BARCELONA, Spain — Lionel Messi, grimacing in pain, was taken off the field on a cart with a knee injury as Barcelona was held to a 0-0 tie by Benfica in a Champions League match on Wednesday night. With Barcelona already assured of advancing to the second round, Messi entered as a reserve in the 58th minute. Messi took a left-footed shot from an angle, then fell to the field in pain. He rolled onto his back and held the knee, then was loaded onto a cart.” Messi has a bruise on the outside of his left knee,” Barcelona said on its Twitter feed. ” He’ll undergo further tests to determine the exact extent of the injury.”

A three-time FIFA Player of the Year, Messi has 84 goals and Barcelona and Argentina this year, one shy of Gerd Mueller’s 40-year-old record for most goals in a calendar year for club and country.

I know Ronaldo would be happy wherever he is now.

Sinless World

What a wonderful world this would be if sin could be eliminated! The rich would never again oppress the poor. Everyone would be employed; there would be none idle. The labourer would recieve a just and adequate wage. Everyone would have all he needed. There would be abundance, and no one would go hungry. Poverty would be unknown.

There would not be a drunkard anywhere in the world, for men could bring home their wages and spend their money for food and clothing. The appetite for strong drink would be gone. There would be no drunken drivers and no night parties.

Not a single harlot would be found on the streets. All suggestive pictures, statues and paintings would be gone. Nothing unclean would remain. Never again would adultery be commited. Prostitution and Modern Slavery would be a thing of the past.

There would be no thieves, no bandits or highwaymen. Banks and homes would be safe. Keys and locks would no longer be needed. None would be kidnapped. There would be no jails or penitentiaries; no poor-houses anywhere. Tax payers would be free from all such responsibilities. No one would gamble. Horse-racing, stock-markets and slot-machines would be out of date.

Never again would we hear a man cursing and swearing. God’s name would not be taken in vain. None would be angry. Jealousy would be unknown. Never again would anyone be hanged for murder, for such a crime would not be commited, since love would dominate every action. There would be no hate, no selfishness.

Sicknes would be gone and death, as we know it, will be no more. Never again would there be a funeral, nor a door with crepe. Every man’s word would be trusted; there would be no liars. The dope friend would be a relic of the dark centuries. War would be no more, for never again would nations fight. Battlefields, armies and navies would be unknown. Peace would reign supreme.

Oh, what a glorious vision! Do we all want it fulfilled? Are we really anxious to make this world a better place to live in? Then we must go the whole way. We must deal with sin, for sin is at the root of all greed and selfishness, all the woes and troubles of the human race – sin, yours and mine.

To deal with sin we will have to go further and deeper than mere alter call, reformation and social regeneration, for sin is a disease. Only the blood of Christ can cure it. Since we are both sinners, we must be regenerated as individuals. That is while Jesus said, “Ye must be born again.” The heart must be changed, its appetites and desires, for “The heart”, says God, “is desperately wicked”. When the hearts of all men are changed, then, and not until then, we shall have a better world.

That change, the Bibles tells us, can come only in part now, for the great majority of men will not accept Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord. If they would, the Golden Age would be here. But they will not, and hence we have to wait until Christ returns for a better world, for the establishment of the Kingdom of God on earth.

“The blood salvation,” said D. L. Moody, “has a wonderful effect upon men’s characters. They rarely remaing subjects of charity, but rise at once to comfort and respectability. It is the old story of the pig in the parlour. We have to change its nature before it is fit for such an environment. Only the Gospel can do that.

Education has never done it. Nor has reformation. Environment has failed. Curses have all proven useless. There is nothing, my friend, absolutely nothing that has succeeded except spiritual regeneration, and you knw it.

Sin, my friend, is the prob – SIN; and Christ is the remedy. All the woes and ills of mankind can be attributed to one thing – sin. Until we are able to deal with sin, then we will be able to make this old world a fit place to live in.

My Lord can make drunkards sober. He can make harlots pure. Yes, and He can make the rich generous and employers just. He can transform the dwellers of slums into respectable citizens. He can lift the heavy burdens of life and make sad hearts glad. My Lord, I say, can do all that, as thousands can testify, and infinitely more. He can save His people from their sins.

He is God

He is God, ’twas Thomas who exclaimed,

“My Lord and God,” for Jesus is divine.

Yes, He was born of God and not of man.

He made the world, created all;

He was the Source, the Author of it all,

And by His power alone it still survive.

He is God; He did not start to live

When Mary gave Him birth, He always lived;

His birth was but an incident in life,

Yeah, from everlasting He is God.

A few short years He tarried in this world,

And then went back to His eternal home.

He is God, then worshipped at His feet,

And He accepted worship, being God;

For in the form of God and not of man,

Nor in the form of angels was He known,

His substances is the same as that of God,

The mighty God – He lives eternally.
