A peacemaker is the opposite of a troublemaker. When you have the attitude of a peacemaker you don’t get involved in stirring up strife or discord among people. It is a dangerous thing to be the cause of strife between people.

Being a peacemaker, however, doesn’t mean running around breaking up fights. It means when you know that a person has been offended by you (rightly or wrongly), you go to them and try to make it right.

The attitude of the peacemaker doesn’t say, “I’ve done nothing wrong…let them come to me if they have a problem.” You go to them. You do every thing in your power to make things right.

Why is being a peacemaker such a powerful attitude? Because it’s at the very heart of what Jesus has called us to do!

And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; (2 Corinthians 5:18)

God, through Jesus Christ, became a reconciler (or peacemaker) and has given us “the ministry of reconciliatn.” That means we are anointed to be reconciled with our parents. We are anointd to be reconciled with our fellow brothers and sisters. Whoever has anything against you – you have the duty and the power to make peace with them.

Empowered to prosper are those who become peacemakers because they shall be called the children of God.
